It is my pleasure to warmly welcome you to our school.
Our school is a Catholic school, founded in 1900 by the Sisters of St Joseph's of the Sacred Heart (the Josephite Sisters or "Brown Joes"). Our school is built on hallowed ground, next door to St Mary's Church. At our gates the sign reads 'Te Puru-o-te-Rangi' - The Gate of Heaven. As a Josephite school, we are founded on the Josephite Charism and strive to live by St Mary of the Cross MacKillop's words: "Never see a need without doing something about it". Our school welcomes learners in Years 1-8. Most of our St Joseph's children have a connection to the Catholic Church. However if your family is seeking a quality, faith-based education for your children but your family is not Catholic, please contact our school about the possibility of enrolling and joining our school community. Our school provides a great many opportunities for all learners to experience achievement and success in academics as well as sporting ventures and cultural activities. We offer a strong curriculum, centred on the core learning areas of Literacy, Numeracy and Religious Education. Our teachers are dedicated and talented practitioners who are passionate about building learning focused relationships with learners and their families. Our children enjoy well resourced and attractive, modernised learning spaces and quality learning programmes. We look forward to welcoming your family into our school family.
